Join us at Alaska Gold & Resort (AKAU) for a one-week all-inclusive Gold Prospecting experience. New for 2026 is we offer one package that includes everything we have to offer. You determine what percentage of your week is spent high banking, metal detecting, dredging, shoreline fishing, beach glassing, crafting, or joining other clients on a guided van tour for a cultural or historical experience.
All-inclusive means that the following are included in the weekly rate: accommodation in the lodge (upcharge for a private cabin), three meals per day plus snacks, transportation during van tours, airport shuttle in Nome, use of gold prospecting equipment, guided activities, and amenities.

Our Story
Alaska Gold & Resort has a limited selection of rentals which require a separate fee (ATV, kayak, metal detector). We recommend you reserve rentals well in advance, preferably at the time of booking your week-long Gold Prospecting package.
Historic Anvil Creek is where the biggest nuggets were found during the Nome Gold Rush of the 1900s. Gold is still discovered by AKAU clientele every season.

High banking and sluicing are two proven methods of mining that produce gold. Use our modern sluice boxes and water pumps for optimal results. Staff are available to guide beginners.

AKAU guests are welcome to dredge on our property or at a remote site, when available. Inquire about available equipment.

Metal detecting is another technique for gold recovery. Roam the expanse of our property and additional claims with your own metal detector, or rent one from us.

We recommend you rent an ATV or side-by-side from us to maximize ground covered and to participate in guided tundra tours.
