The AKAU Gold Resort headquarters began a much-needed Great Room extension in 2019 due to an the increasing demand for guest capacity. Construction began last week with the placement of footings, and the roof went on a few days ago. AKAU has made many improvements this year, including new quarters that increased the number of available guest rooms. Along with the additions of full bathroom facility extensions on a couple of cabins, there is the addition of a higher capacity, more efficient hot water heater. Plans are also being developed to upgrade the WiFi in 2020 with enough bandwidth to allow streaming video. We love being unplugged, but sometimes, especially when answering questions of potential guests, having WiFi is important.
